The Reanimations are series of works created by artists Ryan Mullaly and Regan Henley. Each animation is formed by the "re-animation" of a single still image.
The Reanimation project confronts the limits of still photography and the fallibility of human memory by using limited data from a image to fabricate animations from still images taken by a photographer who is no longer living. These animations are made in an attempt to grapple with the grief of losing our memories of the deceased by using technology to crafting experiences that are out of reach.
