The Reanimations are series of works created by artists Ryan Mullaly and Regan Henley. Each animation is formed from a "re-animation" of a single "dead" image. Reanimation aims to convey the impermanence of moments and fabrication of memories via the re-contextualization of images of fleeting moments that will never again occur, taken by a photographer who is no longer living. Each animation is based on scenes that never existed, and never will.
Reanimation is a body of works exploring digital means of preservation and fabrication of memory with the dead by using technology to construct experiences that are out of reach.
